Inventory

Resistor Software Inventory Management is built to be extremely flexible. The inventory system manages objects and items of almost any type and description.

Our system lets you create what we call component models where a model is simply a representation of some piece of a larger item or product. Models can have attributes assigned to them. For example, if you have a model call engine, you could assign an attribute called horsepower to it. Once you create a model, you can then create an actual component from the model. With a small library of components, you can then create what we call Products. A product can be made up of as many components as are necessary. The idea of a product is for them to function like a template for stamping out items. For example, you may have a need to create ten nearly identical widgets, all differening only in a color and serial number. To accomodate that, you would create ten items, all from the one widget product. This is efficient and allows for easier management and customization of items.

Example inventory systems we have created include, but are not limited to, freight forwarding companies (Status, Agents, Invoices, Bills), display house inventories managed for companies that make tradeshows, football games (organized in fantasy leagues), t-shirts and CD's (for record labels), and lately, MP3's for the music publishing industry (artist, title, track, genre).
